PGN Compete For A Cure of the best memories of my college career...
...everyone united behind the cause...
Join us for the 8th Annual Compete For a Cure on April 30th!
About Us

Dustin Stern and Ellen Landgren, of Phi Gamma Nu Professional Business Fraternity at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, originally created Compete For A Cure in 2010. Consisting of a 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament and a co-ed Sand Volleyball competition in addition to t-shirts, free food and wonderful live music, this event provides a day of philanthropy and entertainment for students at the University of Illinois and the Champaign-Urbana community.

Over the first six years of the event, Compete For a Cure raised over $100,000 for the Pam Stern Legacy of Hope Foundation which allocates proceeds to support special education initiatives in the Northern Suburbs of Chicago, as well as lung cancer research. Two years ago, we partnered with two new organizations, Imerman Angels and Tom Jones Challenger League and raised $30,000 for these two great charities. This year, we are going back to our roots and donating all of our proceeds to the American Cancer Society. With many members of our chapter, both current and alumni, having been affected by cancer at some point in their lives, we plan to rally together to fight back at this year’s event.

Imerman Angels

Imerman Angels’ mission is to provide personalized connections that enable one-on-one support among cancer fighters, survivors, and caregivers.
